More than 1 year of research and development has been invested into my Concours 14 programming !!

Driveability and tuning issues cannot be completely solved with an external fuel tuner
- or other commercially available methods for the Concours 1400.

This is the best result in driveability and power possible anywhere for this model !!
Our exclusive software guarantees it !!


Commercially available software does not access the many areas of the ECU's file that causes driveability issues.
You can't paint like Rembrandt or Davinci with crayons in only 3 or 4 colors !!


My exclusive software, and my 30+ years of motorcycle tuning experience is what allows me to attain the results that I have produced for this model.

My Kawasaki Concours 14 ECU programming (Re-Flash) includes the following:



1) Fix all fueling problems inside the ECU.

(The ones that cannot be fixed with an external fuel tuner or other commercially available methods)
a) All gear dependent maps fixed - (ours exclusively)
b) Main fuel tables (A/n) - adjusted specifically for your exhaust at all active throttle positions.
c) Vacuum tables (MAP)- adjusted specifically for your exhaust in all active areas.
d) Emissions compliant sub-routines that affect driveability - All turned off for you - (
ours exclusively)
e) All system response delays (detuning items) - turned off for you - (ours exclusively)
f) Acceleration enrichment thoroughly tested and re-adjusted for perfect response - (ours exclusively)
g) Update air temperature correction settings in 2014 and older models for better fuel mileage in cold weather - (ours exclusively)
h) Optimize injector timing for best power, response, mileage and combustion efficiency - (ours exclusively)
i) Ram air compensation is disabled during dyno tuning, then re-enabled afterwards to ensure proper fueling on the road
- (ours exclusively)
j) O2 sensors disabled - No need to unplug, or can be removed if desired.

2) Disable fuel cut - ie; Jerky throttle - (ours exclusively)

a) Engine stays running when the throttle is closed.
With stock ECU programming, the injectors are not running when you decel.
This applies to you even if you have already had your ECU flashed elsewhere. - We can unlock and flash over any existing flash on this model.
Don't waste your hard earned money on an ECU flash for your Concours 14 that doesn't disable fuel cut !!
If the tuner explains that "He tunes so you can't feel it" - Please know it's not possible for smooth throttle re-application without disabling this.
You can ALWAYS feel the injectors shut off and restart every time you close and re-apply the throttle when fuel cut is enabled !!
(please see the demonstration videos above)

b) Gets rid of poor, imprecise throttle transitions from closed throttle.

c) Eliminates all feelings of driveline lash and jerky, delayed throttle response.

d) Changing gears is dramatically improved. Without fuel cut disabled, there is no "neutral throttle"
This is the direct cause of your touchy, jerky throttle because the engine isn't running during decel

e) Dramatic improvement upon re-application from closed throttle (in all riding conditions).
(Throttle re-application response feels like our old carbureted bikes used to feel)

f) No need for a different throttle tube ratio to try to prevent jerky response.
(which it cannot do anyway)

g)
Gets rid of annoying popping and banging when re-applying the throttle from closed.

3) Close AIS valve electronically
- (ours exclusively)
No need for block-off plates for air injection system
No popping on decel !!
No hoses to plug - Just plug in your ECU and go !!

4) Cooling Fan comes on at 195 degrees and goes off at 186
(ours exclusively)
Helps keep engine cooler when you are stuck in traffic.

5) Reprogram sub throttles for best response and to remove power restrictions

a) This allows a more sensitive throttle that is easy to control.

b) Allows all of the 1400 engine's available power - whenever you ask for it.

c) Gives immediate engine response to the throttle with no restrictions.


d) Low rpm power is dramatically improved, while preserving fuel economy.

e) Response delay filters turned off - part of original detuning (ours exclusively)

6 ) Complete custom re-curve of ignition timing

a) Set main timing tables for maximium power and driveability across the entire rpm range and all throttle positions.
This also helps provide better fuel economy, and less vibration when cruising and moderate acceleration.

b) All gear dependent maps equalized and adjusted for best power and fuel economy (ours exclusively)

c) All emissions compliant /detuning sub-routines turned off. (ours exclusively)


Raise rev-limiter 500 rpm - Optional & Recommended

(This is optional, and can be left out if you prefer - just indicate it on our Concours 14 form when you send us your ECU)

With my programming which includes our exclusively specific cam timing adjustments, the Concours 14 is still making good power until 10,500 rpm
(as can be seen in our dyno charts below.)


The Concours 14 shares the same reciprocating parts as it's sibling ZX14 ie;
Crankshaft, connecting rods, piston pins, and valves.... all the same part # (for all years of C14)
ZX14 pistons have higher domes and are just slightly higher compression.

Concours 14 uses ZX14 intake valve springs on all 16 valves.... (ZX14 revs to 11,000rpm)
Raising the limiter on this engine (500 rpm) up to 10,500 rpm allows the power to continue with my ecu programming
(just as the engineers intended it to before the restriction department got their hands on it.)

Please don't believe the scare tactics claimed by competing offers that cannot make the power or driveability improvements
that we can for this model. They are completely false, and are a desperate attempt to scare you, because they fear losing business to us.

VVT actuators are not failing - This was verified to me by several people at Kawasaki.
Feel free to give us a call if you have questions about this.

I have over 500 dyno runs on my test bike that hit the 10,500rpm limiter on every run with no issues !!


7) Reduced heavy engine braking on decel.
a) M
ore relaxed gear changes and throttle modulation at all speeds.
b) Chassis is more stable because bike doesn't pitch back and forth on it's suspension when throttle is closed and re-applied.
c) More stability when entering a turn.
d) Slowing down is relaxed and natural feeling... Not like you just hit the brakes.

Slip-on Test Results


Adding a slip-on exhaust to this bike adds a significant amount of power above 5500 rpm.
This is my completely stock C14 with an Akrapovic slip-on muffler added, twin DB killers are removed.

This chart mirrors the chart on Akrapovic's website, with more peak power due to
the DB killers being removed.




Adding Ivan's ECU programming to the bike just releases all the potential that this engine has,
and adds 10 ft/lb of torque at 3000 rpm, 5 hp at peak, and another 500 rpm of "hard pull" to the powerband when you want it.







Test conditions - average summer weather

This chart's purpose is to show that the most accurate comparison is done on the same day and in the same conditions.
Dyno runs done in different weather can adversly affect the readings, corrected or not.

All dyno runs that compare power on my site are done in the same weather conditions.








Stock muffler vs. slip-on...... both w/Ivan's ECU programming

This chart is to show that gains from changing the muffler are basically the same, flashed or not !!
Both of these runs have the fueling corrected because they both have my programming.






All stock vs. final slip-on result -
A 10 ft/lb torque increase at 3000 rpm, 14hp increase at peak, and over 20hp at 10,000 rpm.
No other programming adds as much power, torque, smoothness, and fuel economy.

Full Akrapovic 4-2-1 for ZX14 vs. Slip-on

This pipe adds another 13+ hp over the gains achieved with a slip-on exhaust with no significant losses anywhere.
With my programming, significant power gains over the slip-on exhaust begin at 4000rpm.

Why did I choose this exhaust?
AreaP full exhaust is on order, and won't be in my hands until the middle of January 2018 or so....

I had an extra Akrapovic ZX14 system left over from my ZX14 testing....
As soon as I fitted it, I couldn't wait to get it on the dyno and see what she does.

I will be testing and tuning various exhaust options and adding them here.

The popular AreaP full exhaust for this bike will be tested and tuned as soon as it arrives.







100 hp and 100ft/lbs at 5200 rpm - Very impressive to say the least !!







All stock vs Akrapovic & Ivan's ECU programming final result - 36 HP gain at 10,000 rpm !!
