My Kawasaki Concours 14 ECU programming (Re-Flash) includes the following:

1) Fix all fueling problems inside the ECU.

(The ones that cannot be fixed with an external fuel tuner or other commercially available methods)

• All gear dependent maps fixed
• Main fuel tables (A/n) - adjusted specifically for your exhaust at all active throttle positions.
• Vacuum tables (MAP)- adjusted specifically for your exhaust in all active areas.
• Emissions compliant sub-routines that affect driveability - turned off.
• All system response delays (detuning items) - turned off.
• Acceleration enrichment thoroughly tested and re-adjusted for perfect response.
• Update air temperature correction settings in 2014 and older models for better fuel mileage in cold weather.
• Optimize injector timing for best power, response, mileage and combustion efficiency.
• O2 sensors disabled - No need to unplug, or can be removed if desired.

Includes fueling changes specific to your exhaust !!
External fuel tuner not needed - just plug in and go !!

2) Disable fuel cut - ie; Jerky throttle - (ours exclusively)

Don't know what "fuel cut" is?

Disabled:

• Engine stays running when the throttle is closed.
With stock ECU programming, the injectors are not running when you decel.
(please see the demonstration videos above)

• Gets rid of poor, imprecise throttle transitions from closed throttle.

• Eliminates all feelings of driveline lash and jerky, delayed throttle response.

• Changing gears is dramatically improved. Without fuel cut disabled, there is no "neutral throttle"
This is the direct cause of your touchy, jerky throttle because the engine isn't running during decel.

• Dramatic improvement upon re-application from closed throttle in all riding conditions.
(Throttle re-application response feels like our old carbureted bikes used to feel)

• No need for a different throttle tube ratio to try to prevent jerky response.
  (which it cannot do anyway)

• Gets rid of annoying popping and banging when re-applying the throttle from closed.

3) Close AIS valve electronically

• No need for block-off plates for air injection system
• No popping on decel !!
• No hoses to plug - Just plug in your ECU and go !!

4) Cooling Fan comes on at 195 degrees and goes off at 186

• Helps keep engine cooler when you are stopped or riding at low speeds in traffic.

5) Reprogram sub throttles for best response and to remove power restrictions

• This allows a more sensitive throttle that is easy to control.

• Allows all of the 1400 engine's available power - whenever you ask for it.

• Gives immediate engine response to the throttle with no restrictions.

• Low rpm power is dramatically improved, while preserving fuel economy.

• Response delay filters turned off - part of original detuning

6 ) Complete custom re-curve of ignition timing

• Set main timing tables for maximium power and driveability across the entire rpm range and all throttle positions.
This also helps provide better fuel economy, and less vibration when cruising and moderate acceleration.

• All gear dependent maps equalized and adjusted for best power and fuel economy.

• All emissions compliant /detuning sub-routines turned off.

Raise rev-limiter 500 rpm - Optional

This is optional, and can be left out if you prefer - just indicate it on our CONCOURS 14 ECU FORM when you send us your ECU.

• With my programming, which includes VVT cam timing adjustments, the Concours 14 is still making good power until 10,500 rpm.
(as can be seen in our dyno charts below.)

• Raising the limiter on this engine (500 rpm) up to 10,500 rpm allows the power to continue with my ecu programming.

7) Reduced heavy engine braking on decel.

•More relaxed gear changes and throttle modulation at all speeds.

•Chassis is more stable because bike doesn't pitch back and forth on it's
suspension when throttle is closed and re-applied.

• More stability when entering a turn.

• Slowing down is relaxed and natural feeling... Not like you just hit
the brakes.

8) Improved fuel economy
• 50+ mpg on this model when riding modestly

9) Reduced running temperatures
• Coolant temps average appx 25 degrees cooler than with stock programming
• Dramatic reduction of heat flow from radiator that cooks you while riding in traffic

10) All power & speed limiters removed

11) All driveability inhibitors removed
Concours 14 engine revs instantly, and offers fantastic fuel economy too !!

12) Free updates when/if we make improvements.
(shipping not included)

Stock Exhaust Result

All Stock Concours 14 ECU vs. Ivan's ECU programming - This test shown with stock exhaust

Slip-on Test Results

Adding a slip-on exhaust to this bike adds a significant amount of power above 5500 rpm.

Adding Ivan's ECU programming to the bike just releases all the potential that this engine has,
and adds 11 ft/lb of torque at 3000 rpm, 4 hp at peak, and another 1000 rpm of "hard pull" to the powerband when you want it.

Stock muffler vs. slip-on...... both w/Ivan's ECU programming

This chart is to show that gains from changing the muffler are basically the same, flashed or not !!
Both of these runs have the fueling corrected because they both have my programming.

All stock vs. final slip-on result -

A 15 ft/lb torque increase at 3000 rpm, 12hp increase at peak, and 20hp at 10,000 rpm.

Continued testing back in 2019 has given some power improvements below 3600 rpm on this bike.

Continued testing back in 2019 has given some power improvements below 3600 rpm on this bike.

Full exhaust tests

AreaP Full exhaust

This exhaust clearly produces the most power on this bike, it was designed specifically for the C14 with no limitations.
The results speak for themselves.... more power for this bike than any other exhaust above 3000 rpm

25 HP @ 9500 rpm
33 HP @ 10,000 rpm

95 TQ @3500 rpm
106 TQ @6100 rpm

No losses above 3000 rpm compared to a tuned slip-on exhaust.

All Stock Concours 14 vs Black Widow Full Exhaust

Black Widow Full Exhaust vs
tuned slip-on

All stock vs Delkevic header & Ivan's ECU programming

Delkevic header vs. tuned slip-on

2006-2007 ZX14 header with dual slip-on mufflers

This setup is a great option if you desire
dual exhaust, and want a full exhaust that offers unrestricted performance.
The parts to make it fit can be found on Ebay from specialty manufacturers, or you can make them yourself.

This chart shows the ZX14 header/slip-on vs. stock header/slip-on - Both with my ECU programming
It gives up almost nothing at low rpm, and gains significantly above 5000 rpm...

Still not as much as a race exhaust system at peak, but a fantastic compromise between the two !!

This chart shows the ZX14 header/dual slip-on/Ivan's ECU programming combination vs. an all stock C14
16ft/lb torque increase at 3000 rpm, 17hp at peak, and 26 hp at 10000 rpm .
