Kawasaki Z900RS Airbox mod page
- (Ivan's airbox mod)

Want to know how to get rid of the airbox restrictions that your stock Z900RS intake has?
Done, documented and tested by Ivan's Performance 11/9/2019

The airbox on the Z900RS has a few deliberate detuning items from Kawasaki that are not in the ECU.
They cost some midrange torque and restrict high rpm power as well.
(See all photos below for how to do these airbox modifications)

All 3 steps are needed to gain the hp & torque shown in the dyno charts !!

****THIS MODIFICATION SHOULD NOT BE DONE WITHOUT FUEL ADJUSTMENTS MADE SPECIFICALLY FOR IT****

The only parts that you will need to purchase are:

Qty 2 - 14073-0941 outer velocity stacks
(Available from your Kawasaki dealer)

Qty 8) 92066-1389 airbox plugs
(Only needed if you want to close the holes in the airbox lower at a later date)

___________________________________________________________________________________________________

(1) Equal length stacks work better overall than staggered on this bike.

(2) Adding (8) 7/8" holes in the specific locations as shown reduces restriction
and can be reversed if desired with the parts listed above.

(3) This photo shows the divider on the stock lid...
This causes high rpm problems by preventing the cylinders from resonating properly
.

FYI
Modding the airbox as shown here does not work as well as shown above !!
The opening is too large and causes turbulence and minimal gains.
